Donating has shown to increase overall mood and sense of wellbeing [1]. Helping others is empowering! There is no question that charities make a difference in the world. Charities are able to function because of generous donors. You could help make an impact by contributing to them financially. But, there may be seasons of life where you don’t have any extra money in your budget to donate.

So, here are 6 ways to donate to charities that won’t cost you any extra money. My wife, Abby and I faithfully use these programs. I hope that you will too.

Fetch Rewards Logo

1 — Fetch Rewards Points

With Fetch Rewards you can earn points from ANY where. Gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, and more. All you have to do is take a photo of your purchase receipt. Fetch Rewards is like Ibotta, Bumped, Shopkick, and Swagbucks. But, it is the simplest receipt reward app that I have ever used. Earning points is easy and they accumulate quickly. You can then donate your points to pre-selected list of charities.

Rakuten Logo

2 — Ratuken Cash Back

Rakuten, formulary know as EBates, is an online cash back shopping app, like honey. Simply, shop at your favorite online stores and you’ll earn cash back. The cash back is normally anywhere between 1–5% of your overall order. But, I have seen some promotions where certain stores offer 15+% cash back. The money can then be donated to a pre-selected list of charities.

Abby and I have been using Rakuten since 2016 and we have saved hundreds of dollars.

Bing Logo

3 — Bing Reward Points

Bing is a search engine like Google. However, Bing, rewards you for using their search engine. There is also daily actives that allow you to earn bonus points. Reward points can be exchanged for gift cards and raffle prizes. You can also donate points to a bunch of different pre-selected charities. I earn roughly 60 dollars a year by using Bing as my search engine.

A handful of credit cards.

4 — Credit Card Reward Points

Almost all credit card companies allow you to donate your credit card points to charity. Credit card points can accumulate quickly. Especially, when using a card that gives you 2% cash back on all purchases.

Abby and I have been using the Fidelity Rewards Credit Card for the last couple of years. I highly recommend the card.

eBay for Charity Logo

5 — eBay For Charity

eBay for Charity allows you to sell your item on eBay like normal. But, the profit from selling the item will go to directly to the charity of your choice. If you’re not interested in selling, that is okay. You can shop for listings that would donate all proceeds to charity.

eBay for Charity has donated over 1.1 Billion dollars since it launched in 2003.

Amazon Smile Logo

6 — Amazon Smile

Amazon Smile has all the same great items as regular Amazon. Yet, a small percentage (.05% to be exact) of eligible purchases go to the charity of your choice. It doesn’t cost you anything extra. If you shop on Amazon a lot like my house does, you could be donating a whole bunch to charity throughout the course of the year.

Amazon smile has donated over 215 million dollars since it launched in 2013.
